Everybody else has been quoting songs from albums but I have been singing this one to myself all morning. Thank you for this 🙂

I kinda liked Bowie before this–loved “Space Oddity” and enjoyed “Let’s Dance” and some of his other songs but holy mackerel “Labyrinth” just took it to a whole new level. The only way I could have enjoyed it more is if it had been ninety minutes of just him as The Goblin King.
Although a special mention should be made of Seu Jorge’s covers of Bowie’s songs in “The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou”.
Seu Jorge singing “Life On Mars” was the first song I bought on iTunes.

I was too young to even know Labyrinth when it first came out, but discovered it eventually, as we all must, and so I knew him as the Goblin King before I knew him as Ziggy or any other incarnation.

God, is Labyrinth good. Not only was Bowie a beautiful vocalist, but he had such a screen presence…too bad he only showed it a few times, most notably this and The Prestige.
Then again, he had that cameo in Zoolander…
I was so sad when I heard of his passing. I’ll always love Under Pressure, simply because it brought together two of my favorite vocalists, Bowie and Freddie Mercury.

There’s too many to figure out. I love them all. Probably Ziggy. An alien rock star.

@Birgit-What’s your fucking problem with Keith Richards? At least he’s fucking Justin Bieber or any of that bullshit?

Phillip Jeffries. That’s my lasting image of Bowie, I think. Although aware of him and his many guises, before I explored his music he was Phillip Jeffries.
