Lol. I Mum was a professional singer, and never though Streisand that good, Mum said BS sang ‘through her nose’ instead of from her diaphragm and I could never get that image out of my head when I listen to her! (My Mum was undoubtedly a better singer! Of course 😊)

I don’t think she’s a bad singer nor a bad actress, I just don’t think she’s that interesting. Still, I do have some beef with her over her atrocious cover of David Bowie’s “Life on Mars?” Bowie thought her version sucked too.

I think she is great. She stood her ground despite her various critics over the years. I remember when many a man in the business attacked her for her “Looks.” When they go after you for your looks, you know they are scraping the barrel for something to neutralize you with…she was a force to be reckon with. She blazed some industry trails for women. I have nothing but respect and admiration for this Lady😊

Once when I was riding in the car with my mother she put in a tape of a Streisand concert and her singing was amazing but it was really her patter between songs that hooked me.
On an episode of Modern Family we only hear her voice over the phone but she has the best line: “I’m just like everybody else. My people put my pants on me one leg at a time.”
I don’t know if it really was her voice but she’s so funny I could imagine her coming up with that herself.

She is really funny, and that made her stand out from the get go. She’s got great timing.
I’ve always heard that she is very shy and that performing is hard for her, but to me she seems like a natural.

This will make you laugh. Remember the scene from Funny Girl (or it may have been Funny Lady) where she “breaks up” with Omar Sheriff? She’s telling someone how she did it, that she didn’t say too much or too little she just walked away. I did that with a guy I was nuts about once and used her words verbatim from the movie! I was SO proud of myself! LOL HUGE Streisand fan. Favorite movie might actually be Prince of Tides (loved the book as well…)

LOL! No, he didn’t recognize it. Wasn’t into musicals. 😉 It wasn’t going to work out because his parents were insisting if he didn’t go on a Mormon mission he HAD to marry a Mormon girl. I just told him that whatever he did I hoped he’d have a happy life. Then I kissed him on the cheek and walked away. A year later I was married and he went to work for the same company as Arn. I called Arn one day and he was on the phone, and the receptionist (who knew us all from college) put me through to Mike! First thing he asked me was “Are you happy?” Thought that was interesting… 😀
